RectiCare Complete Hemorrhoid System Review

Almost 75% of people will experience painful, itchy piles or hemorrhoids at some point in their lives. Although the symptoms can disappear in one or two weeks, few of us would be able to balance busy, work-filled lives with the time it would take to heal on its own. This also assumes that the pile is external and not internal, with internal piles being a little more complex to heal and also causing possibly blood in the stool. Today we review RectiCare Complete Hemorrhoid System, a dual-approach treatment that combines anorectal wipes with a cream to help soothe and relieve the itchiness and pain piles cause.

Piles are swollen veins in the anus or rectum. If a pile is in the rectum, it is an internal one. Piles can result from straining during bowel evacuation, excess pressure from pregnancy or from sitting whole day. The increase in hemorrhoid complaints can probably be attributed today’s fiber-devoid diets combined with a lack of adequate water. This can result in hard stool and irregular blood flow through the veins. The vein walls near the anus or in the rectum can engorge or burst and a pile can be the result.

This treatment promises to shrink swollen hemorrhoidal tissue and relieve pain, itching and irritation.

Ingredients

The advanced cream contains:

  • Lidocaine 5%
  • Mineral Oil 17%
  • Phenylephrine HCl 0.25%
  • White Petrolatum 39%
  • Ceteth 20
  • Cetostearyl Alcohol
  • Citric Acid
  • Propylparaben
  • Purified Water

The advanced wipes contain:

  • Glycerin 20%
  • Lidocaine 5%
  • Phenylephrine HCl 0.25%
  • Benzyl Alcohol
  • Citric Acid
  • Purified Water

The advanced cream comes with 10 non-latex finger cots for easy, hygienic application. According to the manufacturer, the cream contains the highest concentrations of lidocaine and phenylephrine HCl you can get prescription-free. This reduces pain, irritation and swelling.  The white petrolatum and mineral oil act protect inflamed tissue between applications. The first four ingredients are the active ingredients though. Lidocaine is an anesthetic that temporarily numbs the affected area. Phenylephrine HCl is an astringent which reduces swelling, burning, pain and itching.

The advanced wipes contain the same highest non-Rx strengths of lidocaine and phenylephrine HCl as the cream and perform the same function. The medicated wipes provide you with a mobile treatment option, to relieve discomfort and help shrink inflamed tissue. It also leaves the area with a thin, protective coating of glycerin over the inflamed area to keep irritation at bay.

This formula appears to be fast-acting and similar to a prescription drug remedy for piles. The treatment should be effective in most cases, although it may be difficult to treat internal piles quite as well.

Dosage

This treatment can be used by anyone over 12. Use up to four applications daily. Try to keep the affected area as clean as possible prior to and after applications. Do not exceed a total application of 4 per day, both the cream and wipes included.

Price

You can buy this product only at selected stores and retailers. On Amazon, it is retailing for $29.99. There do not appear to be bulk discounts.

Guarantee

Unused products or portions of products can be returned to the manufacturer, Ferndale, within 30 days of purchase. You must provide your receipt. You will be reimbursed for the cost of your product.

RectiCare Complete Hemorrhoid System Review – Conclusion

This dual-action remedy is formulated it seems to be fast-acting and effective as far as the symptoms go. Consumers rate the treatment as average to good, noting that the wipes are very soothing. However, a main problem consumers have is the price for a remedy that does not last longer than two weeks. We do find the price to be high compared to other effective treatments available.

One of our big concerns too is that this remedy does not address the causes of piles, putting you at risk of recurrence. It does not appear to strengthen the actual vein walls, or prevent clumps in the blood flow. Nor does it soften stool. Eating a diet higher in fiber, although not overly high, is recommended along with this remedy. If your piles are mostly internal, it is probably better to use a remedy that consists of an orally ingestible tablet or capsule that targets the affected area in the rectum from the inside, and that also comes with a cream that you can apply externally.
